Bellore, Brown Receive MAC West Honors
Bellore, who prepped at Whitefish Bay (Wisc.) High School, tallied a game-high 10 tackles against Eastern Michigan, his 16th career game with 10 or more tackles. Two of his tackles were for a loss of yardage, including one sack.
Bellore spearheaded a defensive effort that limited Eastern Michigan to 255 total yards. The eight points allowed were the fewest in a conference game since a 31-7 win over Western Michigan in 2006.
Bellore earns the conference's weekly honor for the first time in his career.
Antonio Brown of Miami (Fla.) Norland High School and North Carolina Tech, earned special teams player of the week honors after returning a punt 75 yards for a touchdown in Saturday's win over Eastern Michigan. It matched the longest punt return of his career and was his third career punt return for a score.
Brown also caught four passes for 110 yards and a touchdown, rushed three times for 25 yards and returned a kickoff 28 yards to finish with 238 all-purpose yards.
Brown earns the MAC's weekly special teams honor for the second time this season and fourth time in his career. A Chippewa has been selected MAC West Division Special Teams Player of the Week four of the past five weeks.
Central Michigan (5-1 overall, 3-0 MAC) visits Western Michigan this weekend. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The game will be televised on FSN Detroit Plus and ESPN GamePlan.
