Hartline Signs with Green Bay Packers

MOUNT PLEASANT - Former Central Michigan University left tackle Andrew Hartline will sign with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent.

Andrew Hartline will travel to Green Bay on Thursday and participate in the team’s rookie mini-camp this weekend.

Hartline will join a pair of former Chippewas—defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins and tight end Tory Humphrey—on the Packers’ roster.

This marks the fifth straight year and eighth time in the last nine years that at least one Chippewa has moved on to the National Football League.

Hartline started all 52 games of his career, tied for the second-longest streak in NCAA history. He earned All-Mid-American Conference first team honors in 2008 after being a second team selection in 2006 and 2007. He was elected a co-captain by his teammates in 2008.

The two-time Academic All-MAC selection started the first 25 games of his career at right tackle before moving to left tackle for the final 27 games of his career. He was named Central Michigan University's most valuable offensive lineman in 2008.

Hartline was a starter on teams that won back-to-back MAC championships (2006, 2007) and made three consecutive Motor City Bowl appearances (2006, 2007, 2008), the first time in school history that CMU played in three straight bowl games.

Hartline earned his bachelor’s degree in December in economics. He was recently named to the National Football Foundation’s Hampshire Honor Society.
