MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan's Athletic Ticket Office announced Thursday that it has sold more than 10,000 tickets for the Motor City Bowl.
The ticket office is selling an average of approximately 1,000 tickets per day, and tickets are selling at a faster pace through 10 days than last season.
Central Michigan
is making its third straight appearance in the Motor City Bowl. The Chippewas will meet
Florida Atlantic
on Dec. 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Ford Field in Detroit.
CMU's fan support has helped the Motor City Bowl set attendance records each of the last two years. In 2007, a record-crowd of 60,624 filled Ford Field for the Chippewas' matchup with
Purdue
.
Fans are reminded that the CMU Athletic Ticket Office is offering exclusive reduced rate prices on all Motor City Bowl tickets. Sideline seats are available for $30 (savings of $15 per ticket), club seats are $45 (savings of $15 per ticket) and end zone seats are available for $20 (savings of $10 per ticket).
The CMU Athletic Ticket Office in Rose Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tickets also can be purchased over the phone by calling 1-888-FIRE-UP2 or online at cmuchippewas.com.
Purchasing tickets through the CMU Athletic Ticket Office is the only way for fans to guarantee they will be seated in the reserved CMU sections. Revenue from ticket sales provides direct support for the Chippewa football program and Marching Chips in offsetting costs associated with the bowl game.
