CMU/Ball State Draws Record ESPN Ratings

MOUNT PLEASANT - Last week's matchup between Central Michigan and Ball State at CMU's Kelly/Shorts Stadium was the most viewed Mid-American Conference game ever on ESPN or ESPN2.

The game drew a 1.6 rating, which translates to 1,605,001 homes tuning into the game. The contest was the most viewed and highest rated college football game ever for a Tuesday or Wednesday night on the network.

Since the start of the 2006 season, CMU has made 19 appearances on the ESPN family of networks (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN Regional). The Chippewas are 12-7 in those contests, including 3-1 in 2008.

Central Michigan (8-3 overall, 6-1 MAC) closes the 2008 regular season on Friday at Eastern Michigan. Kickoff is set for noon.
