CMU Announces Kickoff Times for Home Games

MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University has announced the starting times for its five home football games this season.
The two-time defending Mid-American Conference champions open the 2008 campaign at home against Eastern Illinois on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. The season opener also will serve as Herb Deromedi Day. The Chippewas’ former head coach and athletics director will be formally enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame this summer.
Central Michigan
University's home games against
Buffalo
(Sept. 27) and
Temple
(Oct. 11) both will kick off at 4 p.m. The Buffalo game will serve as CMU & You Day, Family Day and Band Day, while the Temple contest highlights Homecoming festivities at CMU.
The Chippewas host
Western Michigan
at noon on Oct. 18 to close their three-game homestand. Oct. 18 also will serve as Hall of Fame Day at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. The CMU Athletic Hall of Fame’s 2008 induction class will be introduced at halftime.
The home finale is Wednesday, Nov. 19 against
Ball State
. That game will kick off at 7 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN2. Senior Day and Military Day festivities will be held in conjunction with the final home game of the season.
“We are excited about our home schedule and the quality of opponents we will host at Kelly/Shorts Stadium,” said CMU Director of Athletics Dave Heeke. “Everyone looks forward to having the season opener at home, and Buffalo and Temple are both quality opponents from the East Division. Hosting the Western Michigan game is always an exciting event on our campus, and we get to close the season by showcasing our university and our program on national television.”
Season and individual game tickets for the 2008 season are now on sale through the CMU Athletic Ticket Office. Fans can order tickets online at cmuchippewas.com or by calling the ticket office 1-888-FIRE-UP2.
More information regarding each of the promotional days also is available through the ticket office.
