MOUNT PLEASANT - The Mid-American Conference has named Central Michigan University guard Giordan Watson of Birmingham (Mich.) Groves High School and Bridgton Academy the MAC West Division Player of the Week. | |||

Giordan Watson led the Chippewas to a pair of wins over Robert Morris and Cal State Fullerton last week. He averaged 16.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists. In a road win at RMU, the senior guard scored 15 points, grabbed three rebounds and dished out a season-high seven assists. Against Fullerton, a team ranked No. 14 in the collegeinsider.com Mid-Major Poll, Watson had 18 points, a rebound and an assist. For the week, Watson shot .555 from the floor and hit a three-pointer in each game to extend his consecutive games streak with a three-pointer to 10. It marks the third time in his career that Watson has picked up the honor. He was tabbed twice last season. Central Michigan (3-5) has won three straight heading into Saturday’s game at Michigan. Tipoff in Crisler Arena is set for 2 p.m., and the game will be televised on the Big Ten Network. |
