MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University sophomore quarterback Dan LeFevour of Lisle (Ill.) Benet Academy has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week.

Dan LeFevour amassed 506 yards of total offense, a school record and the third-highest single-game total in MAC history, in the Chippewas’ 58-38 win at Ball State on Saturday. He completed 30-of-38 passes for 360 yards and a school record-tying five touchdowns. He also ran 16 times for 146 yards and a score.

LeFevour is one of seven quarterbacks to account for at least 500 yards of offense in a game in 2007. His 146 rushing yards against the Cardinals were the most for a CMU quarterback since Erik Timpf ran for 147 yards at Michigan State in 1993.

This is the first time in 2007, and second time in his career, LeFevour has been named MAC West Offensive Player of the Week.

Central Michigan (3-3 overall, 3-0 MAC, 3-0 MAC West) hosts Army in a nonconference matchup Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Comcast Local will televise the contest.
