CLEVELAND, Ohio - Central Michigan University junior Giordan Watson has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week.

Giordan Watson averaged 23.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists while leading Central Michigan to a pair of wins last week.

It marks the second time this season the point guard received the award. He was also honored on Jan. 8.

Watson tallied team high scoring honors in each game last week, including a game-high 26 points in a road win at Ball State. He hit a floater with 13 seconds left against BSU that broke a 58-58 tie as CMU ended up winning by two.

Watson added 20 points in a home win over Northern Illinois on Sunday.

He was 16-for-30 from the floor and 6-for-9 from three-point range for the week. Watson's 54 three-pointers this season moves him into 10th on CMU's single season chart.

The Chippewas close the home season on Thursday night, March 1, when they host in-state rival Eastern Michigan. Tipoff in Rose Arena is set for 7 p.m.
