MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University redshirt freshman quarterback Dan LeFevour of Lisle (Ill.) Benet Academy has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week.

Dan LeFevour completed 18-of-30 passes for 171 yards and ran 18 times for 75 yards and two touchdowns in the Chippewas’ 18-7 win over Ball State on Saturday. He also caught one pass for a gain of 2 yards, hauling in a throw that was deflected at the line of scrimmage.

LeFevour’s 75 rushing yards against the Cardinals were a game high, career high and the highest single-game total for a CMU player this season. He accounted for all 76 yards (6-of-6 passing for 66 yards, four rushes for 10 yards) on a third-quarter drive that he capped with a 3-yard touchdown run.

This is the first weekly conference honor for LeFevour and the second time this season a CMU player has earned MAC West Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Central Michigan (4-3 overall, 4-0 MAC), alone in first place in the MAC West Division, hosts Bowling Green on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. ESPNU will televise the contest live.
