Central Michigan University has tapped the state of Georgia for a defensive back to add to its 2006 football recruiting class.

Chippewas Insider has learned that safety Tim Brazzel (6-0, 180) of Smyrna (Ga.) Campbell High School made a verbal commitment to Central Michigan yesterday.

Brazzel completed an official visit to CMU this past weekend. He becomes the first Georgia player and 18th verbal commitment overall in the Chippewas' 2006 recruiting class.

CMU is expected to sign 25 players in this year's class.
