Florida Cornerback Commits to the Chippewas

Chaz West

Central Michigan University has tapped the Sunshine State for another standout player to add to its 2006 recruiting class.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel is reporting today that cornerback Chaz West (5-11, 185) of Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely High School has made a verbal commitment to Central Michigan University.

West, who took an official visit to CMU the weekend of Dec. 9, joins another Florida cornerback, Delvin Davis, in the Chippewas 2006 recruiting class.

West becomes the eleventh known verbal commitment and fifth Floridian in the Chippewas 2006 class. CMU could sign as many as 25 players in this year's class.
