Following the firing of his father, Ernie Zeigler, former four star shooting guard prospect Trey Zeigler has been granted a full release by Central Michigan. Now, he's planning a visit to Durham.
On Tuesday afternoon the 6-foot-5 scoring guard tweeted that he'll visit Durham this coming weekend for an official visit. Sources confirmed to TDD that the visit was set up soon after the release was granted.
Wherever Zeigler ends up, he'll be an addition to the class of 2013 after sitting out the 2012-2013 season under NCAA rules. Barring early departures, Duke stands to lose four players - Andre Dawkins, Seth Curry, Mason Plumlee, and Ryan Kelly after the 2013 season.
As a sophomore Zeigler averaged 15.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists for Central Michigan. He struggled from the free throw line, however, shooting just 49.5 percent on the season.
