MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan head men's basketball coach Ernie Zeigler has added two freshmen and a junior college transfer to the 2011 recruiting class as Austin Keel, Olivier Mbsigoto (pronounced oh-LIV-e-ay by-GO-toe) and Austin McBroom have each signed a National Letter of Intent with the Chippewas.

"We definitely had some needs at the guard position and we addressed them with this class," said Central Michigan head coach Ernie Zeigler, who just finished his fifth season with the Chippewas.

Austin Keel, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound shooting guard from Winter Park (Fla.) High School, averaged 14 points and five rebounds per game last season, helping his squad to a class 6A state title with a 28-5 overall record.

"Austin fits what we were looking for in a shooter and scorer," Zeigler said. "He is an excellent three-point shooter but he also is able to score in a variety of ways."

Austin McBroom is a 6-foot, 160-pound point guard out of Campbell Hall High School in North Hollywood, Calif. Last season his team went 17-10 while he averaged 25.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game, leading the league in scoring, steals and free throw shooting.

"McBroom is a scoring point guard with the ability to make his teammates better," according to Zeigler. "He gives us a quick, tough-minded player who can score from three-point range, and he brings a toughness from his experience as an all-state football player.

"Both Keel and McBroom will add a lot of depth to our guard position, and all three of these players will come in and compete for a starting position immediately," Zeigler added.

Joining the two freshmen guards is Olivier Mbaigoto, a junior transfer from St. Petersburg (Fla.) College. Mbaigoto is a 6-foot-7, 225-pound forward who averaged 16 points and 6.3 rebounds per game this past season. He was named to the All-Sun Coast Conference First Team after leading the Titans to 19 wins and a berth in the Region 8 Tournament. The Chad, Africa, native prepped at Bethel High School in Virginia.

"We are very pleased and excited to add 'OV' to our roster," Zeigler said. "He is a very versatile forward who can score both inside and outside. He has a tenaciousness about his game that fits our program, and we are looking forward to him bringing a lot of athleticism and ability to score and rebound."

The three April signees join Holland (Mich.) West Ottawa High School guard Jorddan Myrick, who signed with the Chippewas during the early signing period.
