Thomas Named to Academic All-America Team

TOWSON, Md. - Central Michigan University senior forward Jalin Thomas has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America Men's Basketball Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Jalin Thomas, who carries a 3.65 grade-point average in Sport Studies, joins Nathan Hedgecock (U.S. Military Academy), Blake Hoffarber (Minnesota), Levi Knutson (Colorado) and Garrett Leffelman (Brown) on the University Division Second Team.

Thomas was the only Mid-American Conference player selected to the Academic All-America Team and becomes the first Central Michigan Chippewa recognized since Sander Scott in 1993.

Currently Thomas is averaging 15.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. He was also an academic all-America while at Pensacola Junior College.
